Vermont voters excited to head to polls on primary day Voters want their voices heard Share WPTZ Updated: 7:50 PM EDT Aug 14, 2018 Matt Leighton Reporter -1:12 Show Transcript SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Polling sites across Vermont were ready as voters made their voices heard Tuesday. "I like to have a say in who we vote (for) representatives," Evan Harlow said. Advertisement The gubernatorial race also drew people to the polls. "I'm supporting Brenda Siegel for the gubernatorial race. One of the reasons is because of her open-minded stance on the legalization of marijuana," Dot Lenhart said. Lenhart, who works at a marijuana dispensary, likes Siegel's ideas on curbing the opioid epidemic in Vermont. "Being able to set up stores and taxation and use that money for the opioid crisis," Lenhart said.
