Springfield Area Parent Child Center started their executive director search back in February of this year. The search committee consisted of several members from the SAPCC Board of Directors, a community member, and a consultant from another one of Vermont’s parent child centers. The expectations were set high, and after two searches, Margot Holmes was offered and accepted the position.
She officially started her journey as SAPCC’s new executive director Monday, Oct. 22, 2018.
Margot comes to SAPCC with over 12 years’ experience working with children and families. She has experience teaching, coaching, and managing crisis situations with children of all ages and their families. Most recently, Margot has been the program coordinator for the Barre, Vt. office of Easterseals, leading a team of family engagement specialists, managing the child and family supports contract and partnering closely with the DCF/family services leadership team to bring family engagement services to Washington County.
Margot has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in child development and is completing a master’s degree in nonprofit management with Northeastern University. She has held certifications as a master signing time instructor, a human behavior consultant, a prevent child abuse and neglect trainer, and is vice chair on the Board of Directors for High Horses Therapeutic Riding Center.
Margot is very excited to join the team at Springfield Area Parent Child Center and steward the next phase of this essential community organization that serves young children and families in the southern Windsor and northern Windham counties! Feel free to call Margot at 802-886-5242 or stop in during business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., to welcome her.
