Bar & Restaurant plans some steampunk fun

The Steampunk Society of VT, a Springfield-based nonprofit organization, will be attending a steampunk event Saturday, December 8. Neal's Bar and Restaurant in Proctorsville is hosting a steampunk night that evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Anyone else interested is urged to attend too.

Neal’s menu will feature specialty menu items from Bowls of Braggot, Springfield, Vermont's only steampunk-themed food vendor. Neal’s will also offer a steampunk-themed specialty drink for the evening. The restaurant will offer specialty pricing on select menu items for those who come dressed in their finest steampunk gear.

The Steampunk Society of Vermont's mission is establishing Springfield, Vermont as the “Steampunk Capital of Vermont” and is glad to see local businesses embracing the steampunk theme. The Society runs the Springfield VT Steampunk Festival, a massive weekend long fundraiser used to generate funds for scholarships for Springfield students. Students planning to study the STEAM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Neal's and the Steampunk Society of Vermont look forward to meeting other local steampunk aficionados at this event. Come join the group for great food, drinks, and lots of fun. For more information visit their Facebook group page at Steampunk Society of Vermont, Ltd or their website at steampunksocietyvt.org. Neal's is located right on the main highway, 2588 VT-103, Proctorsville.
