Biggest storm yet hits twin state valley
In Springfield, Chief Doug Johnston said that as of early that afternoon, the Springfield Police Department had only responded to “little fender benders” and no serious weather-related incidents.

Weather-related incidents keep police busy in VT
Multiple motor vehicle crashes, including several on Interstate 91, had Vermont State Police troopers busy responding to weather-related calls during a major snowstorm on Thursday, Dec. 29.

Crews restore power to over 27,000 after Thursday storm
An army of GMP line crews, tree crews, and contract crews are making repairs across southern Vermont and central parts of the state. The most severe damage is in the Springfield, Royalton, and Brattleboro Districts.

High winds knock out power in Springfield area
Winds as high as 85 miles per hour from a storm on Monday resulted in approximately 20,000 customers being without power throughout Vermont and more than 5,000 of them were in the Springfield area.

Following heavy rains that drenched the region Wednesday night into Thursday, many in Springfield and throughout the area faced flooded yards, basements and roads.

Following an unusual February rainstorm which caused evacuations in several Vermont communities, flood warnings issued Thursday are expected to extend into today.
