13th annual Riversweep

The Black River Action Team's yearly volunteer river clean up effort took place Saturday.
Among several shopping carts pulled from the river was one that had to have been in there at least 10 years, from long gone Ames Department Store.

Bill Manner and Marita Johnson oversaw the Springfield operation.  B.R.A.T. founder Kelly Stettner was in Ludlow co-ordinating the Black River clean up effort there.

  1. I was glad to see the football team out there helping. They seem like a good group of kids.

    1. I'm guessing they were serving penance for their 60-0 loss the other night.

    2. That is a stupid comment. They are clearly outmatched, no need to rub it in.

    3. Our sports teams are like our schools- failing....

    4. So.....I guess it not OK to discuss the sports teams when they are losing badly? That fits right in with the mentality that there is nothing to talk about concerning the bad things happening in the town and the school system? The entire school system and the town have collapsed but no one is allowed to talk about that?

  2. It was wonderful to have the SHS football team once again put their hearts and muscles behind some serious cleanup with us! Thank you, guys...and your coaches! Keep up the hard work!
