Rachel Schleimer and Christopher Whaley rehearse for Apple Blossom Cotillion.
SPRINGFIELD, VT - The 57th Apple Blossom Cotillion is more than three months away, but the hard work for its participants began on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Riverside Gymnasium in Springfield and will continue every Sunday until the big night on May 4th.
15 high school senior girls, their chosen escorts, and parents were joined by 22 elementary school couples and their parents to learn about this year’s Cotillion and begin rehearsals.
The theme this year is “Cotillion Gone Country” and will feature music from America’s rich tradition of country music.
The high school senior girls who will be competing for the title of Apple Blossom Queen are:
Kiana Blair escorted by Chase Baldwin, Brianna Condon with Brandon Roldan, Alyssa Cooper with Mason Rabtoy, Abigail Cox with Kenneth Vandenburgh, Miranda Fogg with Cody Stevens, Taylor Knoras with Brighton Fontaine, Merranda Lenahan with Casey Ellis, Angelina Mei with Jacob Therrien, Courtney Page with Michael Muther, Shelby Reardon with Archie Farmer, Jillian Rushton with Jordan Crowley, Rachel Schleimer with Christopher Whaley, Jennifer Stein with Lawrence Bolduc, Amelia Thomas with Tim Hildreth, Laura Vogell with Dean Bactad
Lori Brown and Tammy Farmer are the directors of the Cotillion. Their production team includes Lisa Rushton, Kyla Beardsley, Suzy Coutermarsh, Tami Stagner, and Joey Claflin. Larry Kraft will be the event’s master of ceremonies for the 14th consecutive year.
The Apple Blossom Cotillion is a fundraiser for Springfield Hospital. The proceeds from this popular evening of community entertainment provide support for the Dr. E. Sherburne Lovell Health Career Award and the hospital’s sidewalk project.”
For more information, please contact Larry Kraft, Director of Development, 802-885-7644 or email lkraft@springfieldmed.org.
Will the participants be required to dress in formal attire such as a real evening gown and their escorts a tux?

ReplyDeleteSpeak for yourself Alpin Jack, here we are trying to preserve a slum in this town by benign inaction from the Town government. The town fathers have been very accomodating in providing a place for these people to live and a way for them to make money. They even have their own police force that occasionally burns down the residences of people who screw up in the system. All you do-gooders are just depriving these people of a way of earning a living. Besides, they help provide income to the private corporations that manage the prisons and bring in these wonderful prison guard families with their youth organizations that have these colorful and distinctive clothing. We don't need your liberal sop.
