Audio description at Cinemas 3 applauded

Members of the Springfield Peer Assisted Learning Support group (PALS) donned headphones at a free movie show to try out audio descriptive technology for the visually impaired that Springfield Cinemas 3 theater owner Chad Free just had installed.

The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI) sponsors Peer Assisted Learning and Support (PALS) Groups for adults who are coping with vision impairment. These groups meet regularly in locations throughout Vermont. Meetings include "an activity designed to improve confidence and independence, lunch, and a speaker or entertainment."

The Springfield PALS Group meets the 3rd Monday of each month from 9:30AM to Noon, at the Huber Building.

For information about a PALS Group near you, please call 1-800-639-5861. VABVI is a private agency with offices located in Brattleboro, Burlington, Montpelier, and Rutland.
