Bellows Falls man arrested after escaping furlough
SPRINGFIELD — Authorities have taken a Bellows Falls man who violated the conditions of his furlough last month into custody.
Kevin Morin, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday after a complaint made to the Springfield Police Department around 9 p.m. led authorities to 286 Spencer Hollow Road, where Morin was hiding.
Morin was taken into custody and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility without incident.
Morin was declared as having escaped from furlough on Monday, Jan. 11 after Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) staff were unable to locate or make contact with him at his approved address at 11 Underhill Avenue in Bellows Falls since his last sighting at the Springfield Probation and Parole on Jan. 6.
Morin's prior offenses include burglary, passing a regulated drug to a minor on two counts, violation of conditions of release on two counts, and providing false information to a police officer.
