Chester man with Massachusetts warrants arrested in Springfield | September 27, 2017 By KELSEY CHRISTENSEN kchristensen@eagletimes.com FacebookTwitterGoogle+Share John Butler — COURTESY OF VERMONT STATE POLICE WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A Chester man accused of sexual assault charges in Massachusetts was arrested in Springfield earlier this week and is being held until his extradition. John Butler, 32, appeared at Windsor County Superior Court on Tuesday, where he waived extradition to Massachusetts. Butler is wanted for several felonies in that state, including charges of assault with a deadly weapon. On Monday, Massachusetts State Police advised state police in Vermont that Butler was living in the Springfield area. The Vermont State Police, with assistance from the Springfield Police Department, located Butler on Olive Street and arrested him as a fugitive from justice on Monday. Judge Timothy Tomasi ordered Butler to be held in Southern State Correctional Facility without bail until his court hearing Tuesday. Det. Eugene Kolimaga of the Gardner Massachusetts Police Department attempted correspondence with Butler in order to interview him regarding an investigation into five counts of aggravated rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on two minors, which allegedly occurred in October 2016. On July 25, Butler responded to a voicemail from Kolimaga and indicated he would not be able to come for an interview. According to a police affidavit, Butler has no permanent address in Springfield, and told Massachusetts police that he’s couch surfing and staying with friends in the area. According to his application for a public defender, he is employed at Black Rock Steakhouse in Springfield. Butler has two outstanding arrest warrants in the state of Massachusetts. “I believe that Mr. Butler is aware of these warrants, which is causing the decision of him not responding for an interview in Gardner, Massachusetts,” Kolimaga wrote in an affidavit on Aug. 20, expressing concerns that Butler is a flight risk. Butler’s existing warrants for assault with a deadly weapon stem from an alleged incident of domestic violence in which he is accused of punching a woman and hitting her over the head with a shoe before fleeing their residence. The incident allegedly occurred on Dec. 12, 2016. Butler will be held at Southern State Correctional Facility until he his extradited to Massachusetts for trial.
What does the Black Rock have to do with this? I mean like what the..
ReplyDeleteCause this is the guy in the kitchen making your eggs, not Mario Batali.
DeleteSo does this mean he is beating the eggs before he serves them?
DeleteGood question. I love the Black Rock! Why is the headline so disparaging? Write your own headline, Mobil/Exxon customer arrested!!!
DeleteBecause it's a snub towards the Holls who have been shady as hell for years. Drugs, insurance fraud, not to mention the toddler who died from drowning in a pool at their house and no one noticed because they were all high and drunk. No surprise that they are consorting with this guy here.
ReplyDeleteTRUTH!
DeleteSlander is easy. Sounds like you have a grind against the Holls? Mike and Shannon are straight shooters in my book.
DeleteSH...you better get your facts straight..your the only one who has lost their mind enough to spew false statements. Remember your IP can be traced right back to you...do you know what "SLANDER" is? noun: slander
Delete1.
the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.
"he is suing the TV network for slander"
a false and malicious spoken statement.
Wow! That's crazy to even say that! The Holls have nothing to do with the crimes this man has allegedly committed in an entirely different state. Why bring this on them?
DeleteThis is the most fabricated story I have ever heard! They are upstanding business owners. The Holls may have siblings that don't have the best reputation, but why bring that on them. And to bring up that old news with the toddler?? WHY?? They are not drunks or druggies, I would like to know how you get your facts and how their lawyer can contact you for slander. Does every restaurant do a background check on dishwashers?? I think not...
