Perry has a show at the VAULT, "Little Gems II," and will give a demonstration from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. Booklets are now available at Gallery at the VAULT that contain details on all 83 of the Open Studios and exhibits. Perry will also give a workshop on Landscape Painting from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, exploring composition and design, value and color, atmospheric conditions and how to create a light effect. A materials list will be provided at registration. Cost is $70 for members, $75 non-members. Open Studio Weekend, supported by the nonprofit Vermont Arts Council and by the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to meet a wide variety of artists and craftspeople in their studios, some of which are only open to the public during this event. SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Gallery at the VAULT is delighted that esteemed oil painter, Gil Perry, will be will be giving a workshop on Landscape Painting on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn from such a fine artist. The process of creating a landscape painting evolves in stages. You will explore composition and design, value and color, atmospheric conditions, and how to create a light effect. There will be a demonstration and plenty of painting time. A materials list will be provided at registration. Perry currently has a lovely show at the VAULT called “Little Gems II” and will be doing a demonstration on Saturday, Oct. 14 from noon until 4 p.m. This is a great time to meet him and learn about his techniques before taking his class.
