Springfield Hospital receives bequests | November 03, 2017 Springfield Hospital Director of Development Larry Kraft at the display of lifetime gifts at the hospital. SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield Hospital has recently received two bequests totaling almost $200,000. James and Eleanor Krieger of Chester, Vermont established a charitable remainder trust in which Springfield Hospital had an interest. Dr. Krieger passed away in 2012 and Mrs. Krieger in 2017. The hospital’s share of that trust was $11,308. Kenneth and Frances Balch of Springfield, Vermont, established a charitable remainder trust that named Springfield Hospital as a beneficiary. Fran passed away in 2014 and Ken in 2015. The hospital is receiving $186,000 from that trust. “These two couples were long time friends and supporters of Springfield Hospital,” said Springfield Hospital Director of Development Larry Kraft. “It was a pleasure to spend time with them at our events and an honor for us to be included in their legacies.” Proceeds from both estates will support the renovation of the hospital’s Childbirth Center. “With the help of these donors, and those who are giving to our ‘Springfield Hospital Delivers’ campaign,” said Kraft, “we are determined that our Childbirth Center will be the best possible place to give birth in the region.” An exhibit that honors all bequests and trusts received by Springfield Hospital since it opened in 1914 is located near the hospital’s Level B waiting area. For information about making a gift to Springfield Hospital, call Kraft at (802) 885-7644 or send an email to lkraft@springfieldmed.org.
Maybe they could use some of that money to repair or replace the cement walkway between the hospital and the doctors offices. It is literally falling apart. If you stand underneath and look up at it….pieces of cement are held in place with some kind of tarp material. I wonder who does the inspection on this "bridge"?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that IS a little scary!
Deletemaybe they could start paying some taxes on all the property they own in this town
