Springfield’s Park Street gets its ghoul on | November 01, 2017 SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Hordes of princesses, monsters, and superheroes of all ages flocked to 138 Park St., in Springfield for the third annual Creepatorium experience. The Caulkins family, hosts of the Creepatorium, combined efforts this year with neighboring family the Feickerts to create an outdoor atmosphere that ended with a walk through the fantasy Seminary Hill cemetery. People in costumes, one-of-a-kind ghoulish statuary, dramatic lighting, a hearse, and creepy music ensured a frightening Halloween for all who stopped by these properties for treats. For those who dared to enter the Creepatorium, the experience continued with a series of small interior caves, decorated in true horror movie style, with lights, sounds, and music to embellish the mood. Each cave depicted a vignette, where huge statues of the living dead were displayed among their favorite iconic objects, grandfather clocks contained skeletons, and cages of fantasy monsters glowered with bared teeth. These detailed scenes were over the top in every scary way. Halloween fun is alive and well in the greater Park Street neighborhood, where more neighbors each year are coming together to present a fun experience for children and adults.
