Cole Rapini passes away

Afflicted with a devastating illness, Cole Rapini became Springfield's top celebrity of 2012 when at the age of four he and his "bucket list" received worldwide media attention.

02/06/15 - A few of us have come together to set up a fundraiser in memory of 6 year old Cole. Cole was a very brave little boy who had a smile of an angel. In December Cole was diagnosed with a very rare disease called white matter vanishing disease. This condition causes the white matter of the brain to deteriorate and there is no cure yet for this horrible disease. Cole passed away this morning and left behind a mother, Hanna, and a father Chris who loved him dearly and made his time on earth as positive and as long lived as possible. We are trying to raise funds in Coles name to raise awareness for this disease and help his parents with any financial needs they may have. We understand not everyone has the means to donate, but still want to thank everyone that is supporting the family in any way they can whether it's through donation, prayers, thoughts, or your kind words. Rest easy Cole, God bless your soul. The boxing gloves have been retired.

  1. There are no words. Only awe for such insistence on going the distance, with no more, no less than what Cole had in his toolbox. Though he lived shortly, he lived long on story. And not many people have stories worth telling. May God grant him another chance at another great story as Cole journeys towards the Divine.

    1. James, you were wrong. You did have words, and they were beautiful.
