The top-ranked Yellow Jackets won their fourth straight match Saturday, besting Fair Haven and Springfield at the Springfield Bowl. In the Baker final, the Jacks took two out of three games from impressive newcomer Fair Haven. Windsor pulled out a close one in the opening game, winning 130-128. In game two, the Slaters got hot late and rallied to a 211-186 victory. However, the decisive third game was all Jacks as they cruised to a 171-121 triumph. Katey Comstock had two spares and a strike in the final game, Devyn Campney a strike and spare, Tristan McMullen two spares, Brandyn LeBarron a strike and, in her only frame, Sami Poland picked up a spare. The Jacks couldn't find their strike zone in the opener, but got two spares apiece from Campney and Comstock and one each from LeBarron and Casey Husband. After sparing to open the 10th, Comstock would need eight pins on her final ball to secure a win and knocked down nine. Windsor looked stronger in game two as Campney, McMullen and Comstock posted strikes and Poland added a spare through the first five frames. Campney would get another strike in the sixth and LeBarron mowed all the pins down in the eighth. Comstock would close out the game with 29 pins in the 10th, but Fair Haven had already sealed up the win. The Slaters picked up five strikes, including a team turkey in the seventh through ninth. The Jacks earned the No. 1 seed in qualifying by rolling a 1,742 two-game series. Fair Haven shot 1,580 and Springfield had 1,299. Fair Haven reached the final by defeating Springfield 158-148 and 159-126 in the semifinal. Comstock had 220-148, Campney added 163-172, and Husband had 106-31. Haley St. Louis paced the Cosmos in the qualifying round with 177 and 169. Alex Richardson rolled 135-138, Matt Power 87-179, Heather Morse 114-108 and Meghan Power 77-115. Windsor travels to South Burlington on Saturday while Springfield goes to Spaulding.
