The Cosmos had to do a lot of work to force extra innings, staging a thrilling comeback with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. They did it by flexing their extra-base muscle as Tubbs had an RBI triple in the inning and Matt Veysey an RBI double. Zach Tubbs had a two-run double. John Hildreth got the win by throwing just 12 pitches after coming on to pitch in the eighth. It is a good thing that Hildreth was so economical with his pitches as coach Rich Saypack will send him back to the hill today to start against Windsor, another game at Birsky-Wyman Field. Zach Tubbs led the Cosmos with three hits including two doubles. Ben Tubbs, Nick Bedi, Zeb Reardon and Veysey had two safeties apiece. Both of Veysey’s hits were doubles. Derek Aines took the loss. Aines, Tyler Allen and Gregory Whitney led the Otters at the plate. The Cosmos take a 5-8 record into today’s game. http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20160524/SPORTS02/160529746
