Springfield has suffered just two losses on the season. Fair Haven was one of those losses, a 3-1 defeat. The Cosmos went into the game as loose as ever, but also focused on the task at hand. That combination helped guide Springfield to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Slaters.

SOFTBALL Springfield 5, Fair Haven 0
SPRINGFIELD — Jade Twombley struck out nine and scattered four hits en route to her sixth shutout of the season.
Olivia Bowen pitched well for the Slaters, allowing only six hits. Still, she was victimized by poor defense at times.
“It was a good revenge win for us,” said Springfield coach Andy Bladyka.
Fair Haven beat Springfield 3-1 earlier in the season.
Brook Wiley, Cassidy Otis and Lina Geyer each had a pair of hits for Springfield.
Fair Haven is now 6-4. Springfield is 10-2 and hosts Hartford under the lights on Friday.
