Johnson Post in Springfield is in the process of working towards his Eagle Rank. He recently completed his Eagle Scout Project, which was rebuilding the backstop at Riverside Middle School’s Field No. 4. His project involved replacing rotted boards, rusty fencing, and staining the wood Cosmos Green. The Troop and Troop Leaders volunteered their time to help make this project a success. Aldrich would like to specifically thank Biben’s Hardware Store for the lumber, Springfield Fence Company for the fencing, Sherwin-Williams for the stain and the Springfield Booster Club for providing lunch for the Troop. He would also like to thank his family, friends and other supporters for their monetary donations that made this project possible. There was $130 leftover which was given to Andy Bladyka of Springfield Parks and Recreation to further improve the field.
