2018-01-23 / Springfield Reiki instructor donates to nonprofits, offers new classes SPRINGFIELD — A recent campaign by a local Reiki instructor to donate funds for area nonprofits has netted $200 this holiday season. The donations, by Reiki practitioner Lauren Potter based on the number of client sessions between Nov. 22 and Jan. 5, are in turn being distributed amongst the Springfield Family Center, a homeless shelter, a nonprofit, and the Vine Sanctuary for rescued animals. Potter is offering a (Usui-Holy Fire II) Reiki I Certification Class, from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at Studio Time & Space, 59 Main St., Springfield. This 8 1/2 hour Reiki Level I class will introduce participants to the Usui-Holy Fire II Reiki energies, the most recent upgraded Reiki energies that she describes as intelligent, healing, helping, empowering, purifying, protecting, and guiding. The attunement and meditations are guided by the Usui-Holy Fire II Reiki energies themselves, very high vibration Reiki energies, “providing each participant with their own unique healing experience unlimited by the teacher's vibration as well as giving the participants the ability to channel Reiki,” Potter said. Class participants will access intuitive guidance (Reiji-Ho,) along with learning the Japanese Reiki Techniques of gassho, byosen scanning, and kenyoku (dry bathing technique to cleanse the auric field before and after channeling Reiki), plus practicing various hand positions, the Reiki Shower and Reiki Sandwich techniques and more as time allows. The afternoon is spent in practice with self-healing and with others. Once participants are Reiki I certified, they may give Reiki sessions to themselves, friends, clients, family, animals, goals, and more. Reiki also enhances and blends with conventional medicine, and other complimentary and holistic medicine, she said. Included are the William Rand, "The Healing Touch, First and Second Degree Reiki Manual," plus another Reiki book of your choice, and Reiki I Certificate. Healthy snacks are provided for breaks. The class will take a 40-minute lunch break. Tuition is $173, and can be paid online. Half of the fee is non-refundable, but may be applied to any class Lauren teaches in the future if you are unable to come to the original class. To pay by check, email laurenpottervt@gmail.com with name, address, phone numbers, and mention which class registration is for. Mail checks to Lauren Potter, Healing Energy Reiki, P. O. Box 213, Springfield, VT 05156. Potter is an adjunct faculty at CCSNH, and Usui-Holy Fire II Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna Reiki Master Teacher/Practitioner. She is a VT Reiki Association member and Reiki Membership Association member, has a private practice and teaches in Norwich, Springfield, Putney, Brattleboro, and at CCSNH. She teaches Intro to Energy Techniques and Reiki to the Massage Specialties students at both the Lebanon and Keene campuses of CCSNH.
