Springfield boys topple Hartford The Springfield boys took on Hartford on Friday and defeated them 55-44. “We had a lot of foul trouble in the first and had to have some of our guys off the bench, especially Cam Harbeson and Kyle Monier, step up to keep us in the game,” said head coach Mike Ruppel. Springfield had a 1-point lead heading into the 4th quarter and were able to pull away when they finally got some open three point shots to fall. “We made our free throws down the stretch to hold on,” added Ruppel. “I thought it was an excellent team effort overall and I’m proud of our guys for continuing to work hard in practice and in games.” Noah Zierfus led Springfield with 14 despite foul trouble, Dakota Bushey chipped in 13, and Brenden Dwinell scored 8 off the bench.
