PTA Breakfast with Santa a success

Close to 300 people attended this year’s Springfield Schools PTA Breakfast with Santa event raising over $1500. The event featured a pancake, bacon and eggs breakfast where children could visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as the Elf Workshop.

The annual Beyond the Unicorn Craft Festival at Riverside Middle School Saturday, Dec. 1 was bustling with crowds right from the start. New this year, RMS students occupied the fourth floor, offering child care and their own products and services.

40th Annual 'Beyond the Unicorn' Christmas Craft Fair

It’s the largest one ever! With over 100 booths this year, this event promises to host some of the most talented crafters and artisans from all over New England, New Jersey, and New York. The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. at the Riverside Middle School on Route 11 West in Springfield.

'Twas the Night Live' kicks off the holiday season

The second annual “‘Twas the Night Live,” created and directed by Carrie Jewell, took place at the Hartness House Inn Saturday, Nov. 24, with shows taking place every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 7:40 p.m.

Trunk or Treat 2018

Trunk or Treat is back! This year the event will be on Saturday, October 27th at Riverside Middle School from 5:00-7:30.

Too many cooks may spoil the broth, but in the case of the Apple Fest, lots of cooks were exactly what was needed to turn out delicious apple pies for the annual Pie Baking Contest.

The Springfield Farmers Market is accepting applications from vendors interested in joining an expanded Market Family Day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. This invitation goes out to farmers as well as crafters and artisans; for nonprofits this would be an opportunity to promote an organization or educate the public as to what they do.

Community barbecue competition

A free Celebration and Barbeque will be held at the North School Recreation Area on Saturday, August 4th from 11 am to 4 pm. Instead of the usual first Friday Free Community Dinner at the North Springfield Baptist Church, church members and neighbors are planning a free community celebration and barbeque with a contest to see who can prepare the best-pulled pork barbeque.
