Puggy being hailed as 'the new Oprah'

Springfield Area Public Access TV's most anticipated new series premiere, Puggy's Corner, was shown late this afternoon. An encore presentation will play Tuesday 7:30 p.m. on channel 10.

Retired Fire Chief Ernest "Puggy" Lamphere was talked into doing a weekly talk show after his appearance on two other local talk shows drew so much viewer response.

Sadly, only Springfield area Comcast subscribers are able to tune in to view the cable-only program at scheduled broadcast times on channel 8. Others will have to drop in on a friend or relative with local cable or have someone record it for them. A DVD of the premiere show can be ordered for $10 from SAPA-TV.

The premiere show features an interview with Judy Pullinen who will become the new Director of the River Valley Tech Center on July 1. Puggy has chosen to keep his weekly shows short and sweet, running only around 20 minutes each, hence the choice of title "Puggy's Corner".

A repeat cablecast of the program on channel 8 will run Sunday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Two other recommended shows on SAPA-TV upcoming: On Saturday, March 27, "An Organic Farmer looks Forward to Spring" featuring Henry Homeyer will play at 7:00 PM. It will play again on Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 PM.
"Reinventing the Water Wheel" a program from the American Precision Museum will play on Sunday, March 28 at 8:30 PM.
