Alumni Variety Show

Participants in the Springfield High School Alumni Association's Talent Show on Saturday night all gather together at the end to lead the audience in a rousing chorus of "Glory To Springfield".

The show was packed with local talent. Young dancer, Ainsley Bertone, wowed the crowd with her interpretation of Jazz and modern dance numbers, while young Jordon Noyes brought down the house with her amazing voice.

Old timers spun their favorite yarns, a story by “Granny Gail”. Variety show favorite, Adam McAllister, sang "Country Roads, Take Me Home". Louise Peale with her guitar led a sing-along and other locals such as Ken Young, Reuben Ouellette, Chari McAllister and Vaughn Hadwen made sure the audience was kept fully entertained.

With a $5 admission and sales of snacks, this event is one of several ways that SHSAA raises funds to cover the annual Alumni weekend events, costs of annual letter mailing and helps support the many SHSAA scholarship funds.

The show included a "Shady Ladies" mini-beauty pageant. Above are two of the hopeful contestants  but the crown wound up going to Georgetta Hornblower. The audience was called upon to select the winner by marking ballots during intermission.  It was a difficult decision for most as the ballots did not include a  "None of the Above" option.
