Elks donate dictionaries to Springfield third-graders

This year, 80 third-graders at Union St. School were the latest recipients for the dictionaries.

On Wednesday night, Friendly's waitress Julie Bombria was the recipient of a stunningly generous gratuity.

Sierra Kent was the grand prize winner tonight at the 59th annual Rotary Penny Sale. Kent, a school nurse at Springfield High School, got to take home a check for $5,000 cash. Marshall Brown of Springfield (left) won the $500 door prize drawing. Over 300 other donated prizes were given away at Riverside gymnasium where a near capacity crowd had gathered for the annual event which raises money for local charities.
