  1. Teacher takes leave to write book about Beatles, police THINKS he has filled the vacant position, fire chief wants two more men to sit in fire station to play games on computers while working. Oh yea we could write a book about how the taxpayers are once again getting screwed!

  2. Standard strategy: Ask for more before you've even filled your currently authorized positions.

Government at its best. MORE, MORE, MORE. Hiring more will reduce overtime charges. Yes, but it will still COST MORE!

Sick and tired of all these government bureaucrats asking for more of our money but never offering to take anything out of their own hides.

Turn the fire department over to volunteers and contract with the sheriff's department for policing.
