PROCTOR — The Mount St. Joseph girls basketball team easily handled Proctor on Saturday.
Angela Perry led the Mounties with 20 points and Jenna Eaton added 18.
The Mounties are 9-1 and host Green Mountain today.
Emma Reichert led 3-7 Proctor with nine points.
Springfield 45, BBA 42
MANCHESTER — Hannah Crosby poured in 22 points to lead the Springfield girls basketball team to a 45-22 victory over Burr and Burton Academy on Saturday. Margo Grapshi led the Bulldogs with 10 points.
West Rutland 56, Chelsea 28
WEST RUTLAND — Brooke Raiche poured in 22 points to lead West Rutland to a 56-28 victory over Chelsea.
The 10-0 Golden Horde also got nine points from Julia May and seven apiece from Kelsey Wedin and Shelby Grabowski.
Kiana Johnson led the 5-5 Red Devils with 10 points.
Whitchester 56. Black River 27
ROCHESTER — Whitchester relied on a career-high 19 points from Hayley Mears in beating Black River 56-27 on Saturday to halt a sevengame losing streak. The 3-9 Mountaineers also got nine points from Amelia Mattrick and seven by Toni Turner.
The Presidents were led by Alice Faenza with eight and Paige Kelley with six.
“They hung with us for awhile. It was 24-17 at halftime,” Whitchester coach Dennis Wood said.
The Mountaineers host Cabot on Wednesday at Whitcomb High School.
Rice 59, MAU 41
BENNINGTON — Rice remained unbeaten (8-0) by toppling Mount Anthony on Saturday.
Lisa Sulejmani led Rice with 20 points.
Mount Anthony, 11-2, was led by Madison Little’s 14 points.
