2017-04-25 / Local American Cancer Society seeks Relay for Life teams SPRINGFIELD — Spring is in the air and it is never too early to think about your summer plans. Mark your calendars now and join other Windsor County residents on the relay track from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at the Riverside Middle School in Springfield, Vermont. Visit www.relayforlife.org/windsorvt and take five minutes to become part of the fight. Sign up for free. You will participate in the first noon to midnight relay event. The event includes fun themed laps, on-site fundraisers and food, all night dancing, relaying and more.When it comes to planning your own fundraisers, no ideas are too big or too small. The Windsor County Relay for Life event leadership team is always here to help your ideas get off the ground. Relay for Life is one of many events that the American Cancer Society hosts annually in efforts to raise funds in the fight cancer. Nationally, the American Cancer Society is the largest funded not for profit, nongovernmental organization investing in the finding the causes and cures for cancer. And did you know? Funds from American Cancer Society support Vermont programs and services such as Hope Lodge in Burlington. Additionally, they are always looking for volunteers to help at the event.
