2017-04-29 / Local Springfield police find man who kidnapped child Carpentino Carpentino SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Springfield Police found a man driving in Springfield yesterday morning who was later arrested for kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault. Kurt Carpentino, 33, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, is due in Windham County Superior Court today. On Thursday, Vermont State Police responded to Rockingham to investigate the reported sighting of a missing 14-year-old child from Hinsdale, New Hampshire. The child was located in the vicinity of Alden Road. It was quickly learned the child had been brought to Vermont from New Hampshire by Carpentino. Carpentino was located driving in Springfield by Springfield Police Department officers. Investigation by troopers and detectives revealed Carpentino brought the child across state lines to Vermont, without the knowledge of or permission from the child’s family, where he and the child had sex. Carpentino has a criminal record in Vermont and New Hampshire. Detectives are still actively investigating this case.
