The Cosmos and Minutemen were suspended in the bottom of the fifth Wednesday evening, but Springfield was sitting on a 7-2 lead and standout Cassidy Otis was up to bat. She would get her third hit of the game to cap off a four-run inning.
The Cosmos preceded that inning with a six-run fourth.
Otis finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and classmate Lina Geyer went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
“Those are my two seniors and it was nice to see them each get two hits,” Springfield coach Andy Bladyka said.”
Hannah Cooney contributed a trio of hits to the win as well, including two doubles.
Cooney would shine in the circle too, striking out 13 while scattering five hits and three walks.
The Cosmos (9-8) visit top-seeded Mt. Abraham (11-5)Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
