Bellows Falls defends home-diamond on Senior Day Kameron Towle Sports BF seniors Terriers' seniors getting recognized before Wednesday's win over the Cosmos, 14-4. Kameron Towle WESTMINSTER- The visiting Springfield Cosmos fell behind early and couldn’t recover, as Bellows Falls picked up a 14-4 win on Wednesday night in only five innings of work. Springfield opened up the game with a run in the top of the first off the bat of Matt Veysey, who hit a deep RBI-single to left field. In the bottom-half of the first, the Terriers would strike back with three runs, scoring on a 2-RBI single from Noah Rawling and a bases-loaded walk. After scoring another run in the second, the Terriers pulled away with a big third inning where they plated six runs. The offensive clinic put on by Bellows Falls was led by McGregor Vancor, Griffin Waryas, Clayton Groenewold, Spencer Clark, and Noah Wilkinson, who all had RBIs in the inning. After three, the Terriers led 10-3. Springfield would add another in the top of the fourth, but the Terriers would get hot on offense once again, scoring four runs in the inning. Clark would shut down the Cosmos in the top of the fifth to end the game in a ten-run rule after four and a half. Clark got the win on the mound, going five innings, allowing four runs and striking out eight. The Terriers racked up 11 hits on the day. Clark went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Vancor went 2-3 with an RBI and 3 runs, Waryas went 1-3 with an RBI and 3 runs, Groenewold was 2-4 with an RBI and 4 runs, Rawling was 1-2 with 2 RBIs, and Jackson Brownwent 1-3 with 3 RBIs. Springfield had five hits on the day. Veysey was 2-3 with 3 RBIs, Levi Perham was 1-2 with a run, and Greg Otis was 2-2.
