SHS Class of 1968, 50 years of memories

“In the town where I was born lived a man who sailed the sea…” said the Beatles in the first line of their 1968 hit, “Yellow Submarine.” Fifty years later, the SHS Class of 1968 created its own yellow submarine, decked it with class members clad in tie-dye and love beads, and echoed the Beatles’ hit with a chorus of kazoos.

Saturday, June 16, 2018: The parade begins at 10:30am, making its way from Artisan Solid Surfaces on Clinton Street through downtown, then turning onto route 11 at the Shopping Plaza to end at Riverside School. This year's theme is "Sea Ventures - Make A Wave".

Alumni association names 2017 Honored Guest

The Springfield High School Alumni Association (SHSAA) announced Friday that Tom Battista, retired Springfield Schools Choral Director, will be the 2017 Honored Guest at its annual festivities.

Note-worthy tribute to teacher

For 37 years, Isabella Perrotta Erickson taught Springfield students to sing. Erickson, who died in June 2015 at the age of 96, taught choral music at Springfield High School for decades and accompanied her singing students, as well as the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, on the piano.
