On Senior Night, Bellows Falls Can't Run With Cosmos

The Bellows Falls Union High School boys' basketball team was looking to close out the season with a win on senior night, but the rival Springfield Cosmos had other ideas, building a 13-point lead in the first quarter, then cruising to a 76-46 win over the Terriers at Holland Gym in Westminster.

Kathan honored by hoops conference

Springfield High School graduate Tyler Kathan was selected to the Little East 25th Anniversary Men’s Basketball Team announced Thursday by the conference office. Kathan had an outstanding career at Keene State College from 2005 through 2009. He is now playing professionally in Germany.

Voters approved both the $10.4 million town and $26.1 million school budgets Tuesday, but nixed a proposed tax break for net-metering power projects.
